Worldview
Intensive
Online
Since the autumn of 2008, Kevin James Bywater’s worldview intensive at the Oxford Study Centre in England has gained a reputation for being among the most unique, challenging, and successful worldview studies.
Unlike other worldview classes, this one is highly interactive, trains students to understand and engage with the literature of other worldviews, dives deep into establishing a faithful and truly livable biblical worldview, and wrestles with a number of pressing contemporary controversies.
Students read upwards of 2500 pages for the course and have over 100 hours of virtual class time with Kevin James Bywater. These are highly interactive times, encouraging everyone’s participation.
Together we carefully study many biblical passages, as well as a few entire books. We read and discuss books on Judaism and Islam, on the canon of the New Testament and social justice, on hospitality and sexual identity, on public rhetoric and religious debates at the founding of America, spiritual warfare and contemporary politics, and so much more!
Some years ago Kevin was asked what the ultimate purpose was for this unique worldviews course. After pondering several purposes, an overarching purpose emerged: that we may come to share God’s affections and aversions; that we may desire what he desires and despise what he despises.
